Scootal's Story
On October 2, 2023, I bombed my first midterm at UC Irvine. I overslept and missed my 9:00 AM exam, and by the time I got there, I only had 40 minutes left. I got a 67%, my lowest grade ever. Walking back, I saw scooters zooming by and realized that 15 extra minutes could've helped. I wanted a scooter, but they were too expensive, and there were no rentals available. That's when I came up with the idea for Scootal, a scooter-sharing platform which is now becoming a reality.

Live tracking of available scooters on campus. Easily find the nearest scooter with the app.

Revenue Model
Revenue From Scooter Renters
- A fixed cost to unlock the scooter ($1).
- A monthly subscription to avoid paying the unlock fee ($2.99/mo, $6.99/quarter, or $19.99/year).
- A charge applied based on the cost of the ride (10% - 30% of ride fee based on current demand).
Revenue From Scooter Owners
- A fee for listing the scooter on the featured section for better visibility ($1/day).
- A percentage of the owner's earnings is taken for insurance coverage, depending on how much coverage they choose (15% - 32%).

- Bugatti 10.0 E-Scooter: $6.50/half-day, $8.00/day
- Glion Dolly: $2.00/half-day, $3.00/day
